Green Carpet Fashion Awards 2020
The Green Carpet Fashion Awards returns virtually this year, with visual effects and augmented reality set to take over. This year’s screening will be broadcast globally on Youtube and presented by Robert Downey Jr on October 10. The sustainable fashion show, directed by Grammy-nominated Giorgio Testi and produced by Emmy Award winner Pulse Filmswill, will be focusing on the theme of togetherness and rebirth – with holograms of the world’s most prominent designers, celebrities and talent. Frieze Sculpture 2020
Frieze Sculpture is returning to London this October, allowing guests to engage and enjoy sculptural pieces from the world’s most prominent artists. Running alongside Frieze London and Frieze Master’s, this year’s exhibition will feature ambitious sculptures with a virtual presence Viewing Room – from themes such as civil rights, ecology and the role of the artist as a distributor. 5 – 18th October, frieze.com.
Perpetual Music Concerts with Rolex
In a bid to support musicians and singers during this challenging period, Rolex has launched a series of concerts across the world – available to view online. The idea is to give artists who have suffered the loss of audience and income the chance to perform with renowned artists in prestigious venues. The first took place in Pesaro, Italy last week, and concerts in Berlin (1 September) and Paris (3 September) are still to come. In each of the concerts, a Rolex Testimonee will introduce the evening and present the artists and mutually agreed repertoire: Sonya Yoncheva in Berlin, and Rolando Villazón and associated artist Renaud Capuçon in Paris. Events will be streamed live on medici.tv, and will remain on the platform until the end of October.
FANE’s ‘In Conversation With’ Series
Nigella Lawson, Matt Haig and Jodi Picoult are all taking part in the new programme of ‘in conversation with’ events from production company FANE. The series was launched in a bid to support the theatrical and literary ecosystem during these difficult times, with viewing available worldwide. fane.co.uk
Locked down. Locked in. But living
Three UK dance companies are joining forces to explore the theme of isolation through movement, a new commission from the Lawrence Batley Theatre (thelbt.org). Borough Talks
Borough Market is launching a second series of its culinary online discussions, Borough Talks. Events include a conversation between Olia Hercules and Elisabeth Luard on why seasonality matters, as well as a talk between Ravinder Bhogal, Elizabeth Haigh and Jack Stein on the future of dining out, looking at how restaurants can adapt to the new normal. boroughmarket.co.uk
World Big Dog Walk

The Covid-19 pandemic has sadly proved difficult for many animal charities across the globe. Enter the Virtual Big Dog Walk Challenge; a digital fundraiser aiming to raise money for these charities in need. The campaign is asking humans to take their furry friends for a walk at a location of choice – yes, it’s really that simple – in which owners (including the likes of Claire Balding, Michaela Strachan and Gemma Atkinson) will pledge a distance to walk throughout the month of September, in order to raise money for a number of animal charities. Hay Festival Book of the Month Live Q&As
Hay Festival has launched a new Q&A series, designed to showcase the author of the Festival’s Book of the Month title through an interactive conversation on Crowdcast. Poet and playwright Inua Ellams kicked the series off with a discussion on his award-winning collection The Half-God of Rainfall, and upcoming sessions will see novelist Anne Enright talking about Actress and David Mitchell on Utopia Avenue. hayfestival.com
Totally Thames Festival

Totally Thames’ Rivers of the World project sees artists work remotely with 2,000 young teens across the globe to create river-themed art, including the above image. This year’s festival has adapted with an exciting online programme, bringing together artists and anglers alike to celebrate the river that brings Londoners together.
