INALA at The Royal Albert Hall
What? South Kensington’s Royal Albert Hall will play host to a western and South African-inspired song and dance spectacular with an exclusive performance celebrating both Black History Month and World Ballet Day (23rd October). Performed by Grammy Award-winning South African gospel group the Soweto Gospel Choir and dancers from London’s The Royal Ballet, INALA promises to entrance and enthral, following an impressive Royal Variety performance and sold-out West End and international tours.

Jeffrey Boakye & Nels Abbey in Conversation
What? Performing as part of the Southbank Centre’s London Literature Festival, acclaimed authors and culture writers Jeffrey Boakye (Hold Tight: Black Masculinity, Millennials, and the Meaning of Grime) and Nels Abbey (Think Like a White Man) will come together for an entertaining and insightful discussion about all things contemporary culture in Britain.

Black Girl Fest

What? It’s the UK’s first ever festival to solely commemorate black British women and girls, and this year the festivities commence with a fantastic line-up of exhibitions, talks, live performances and more. From discussions about decolonising gender to black women within the modelling industry, there will be plenty of thought-provoking and insightful material to take away. The theme for 2019? Taking up space.

Heaux Noire
What? An evening of inspiring live music and literature performed by influential ‘woman’ of colour (a term used by the platform to encompass non-binary identities and inclusivity), Heaux Noire will feature sincere and stirring performances from the likes of London-based soul singer Teshay Makeda and renowned Ugandan poet and writer Maxine Sibihwana.

Friday Night at the Museum – The Glory of Africa
