Kicking off an exciting line-up of Festival Headline Galas is Director Armando Iannucci and co-writer Simon Blackwell’s star-studded adaptation of Charles Dickens’ David Copperfield, one of the most memorable characters to spring from the writer’s collection of fictional novels. Starring Dev Patel as the witty lead, along with Hugh Laurie and Tilda Swinton, the feature film is set within Victorian England, and follows the compelling and often turbulent life of Copperfield as he grows from a boy to a man.
