Following the successful launch of American-inspired afternoon tea CUTcakes & Tea in 2018, California-born executive chef David McIntyre has added some Thanksgiving specials to the menu: think roasted maple and bacon macaroons, pumpkin spiced cake pops an New York cheesecake. Meanwhile the three-course Thanksgiving dinner offers festive favourites such as roasted squash soup with chanterelle mushrooms, roast turkey with wild mushroom stuffing and the signature pumpkin cheesecake with cranberry compote and cinnamon ice cream. Christopher’s, Covent Garden
The Thanksgiving offering at Christopher’s Covent Garden balances an understanding of tradition with a contemporary and innovative spin, courtesy of head chef Francis Agyepong. Starters include a carrot and cumin soufflé and seared Orkney scallops, followed by the main event: Christopher’s signature slow-cooked organic turkey cornbread with Michigan chestnut cherry stuffing, buttered beans and creamed potatoes. Alternatively, tuck into a dish of Missouri-rubbed rack of lamb, pulled lamb shoulder, or a butternut squash tamale. The ever-glamorous Corinthia London is hosting an elegant Thanksgiving dinner in The Northall restaurant, specially curated by executive Chef André Garrett. For your comfort food fix, head to Deep South specialist The Blues Kitchen, which is serving up an all-American feast this Thanksgiving. To start, it’s smoked sausage with okra and peppers, followed by the main event: buttermilk fried turkey, crispy onions, cornbread and twice-baked mac’n’cheese. Make sure you save some space for pudding too, which is a tasty pumpkin pie served with toasted marshmallows and ice cream. A vegetarian menu is also available, featuring okra and black bean gumbo for starters and a broccoli and cheddar pot pie with sweet potato mash for the main course.
