Looking for fun foodie events across the capital? From the most exclusive banquets to cool new supper clubs, these are the best food and drink pop-ups in London…
The Nitery by Gizzi Erskine
Award-winning chef and food writer Gizzi Erskine is launching a Parisian-inspired pop-up in the former Asia de Cuba site on St Martins Lane. Springing up this February and running until April, The Nitery will offer a fun, modern take on French, American and British dishes. It’s inspired by early 20th century Parisian ‘niteries’: Bohemian restaurants that popped up around the city, frequented by the big artists and poets of the time. The pop-up will reflect this bon vivant spirit, offering new takes on nostalgic dishes using experimental ingredients. Small plates, for instance, include devilled eggs with roast chicken crackling; and bone marrow dripping on marmite toast, followed by main dishes such as flagoelet dauphinoise, goat cutlets and bisque. Come Sunday, diners can enjoy an indulgent roast here – there’ll be a carvery station serving beef, lamb or pork with all the trimmings, as well as vegetarian wellington. 13 February – 30 April 2020. You’ll have a choice of three bowls: roast chicken with buttered chilli corn, salt beef with Iberico pork fat and a vegetarian option with root vegetables and celeriac chashu. This takeover follows a series of popular guest chef residences on the venue’s fifth floor, which saw appearances from the likes of Elizabeth Haig, Oli Brown and Zoe Adjonyoh. £15pp. 31 January – 15 February 2020.
