The Botanist x Carousel

Marylebone hub Carousel’s new foraging-focused guest chef series kicks off with Craig Grozier, founder of the innovative dining concept Fallachan in Glasgow and in-house chef at the Bruichladdich distillery (producers and home of The Botanist Gin). He’ll be showcasing his hyper-seasonal, local and wild approach to cooking, celebrating Scottish ingredients including Arbroath smoked sea trout and Gigha halibut. Diners can also try their hand at being a popstar at the Hip-Hop Karaoke Brunch, or whip out their best fancy dress for the Haunted House Halloween Brunch – expect entertainers, live music and lots of spooky paraphernalia.  26 September – 28 November, gauchorestaurants.com

A Schwarzwald Summer at German Gymnasium

German Gymnasium

Nothing screams summer like floral-infused gin – and German Gymnasium is serving up plenty of it. The renowned King’s Cross restaurant has partnered with Monkey 47 Schwarzwald Dry Gin to create ‘A Schwarzwald Summer’, a brand-new pop-up inspired by summers spent in southwest Germany’s Schwarzwald, better known as the ‘Black Forest’. Expect an array of specially curated gin cocktails, tasty German bar snacks – from Black Forest ham to buttered brezel – and a beautifully transformed (and Instagram-worthy) terrace, now filled with florals. germangymnasium.com

Belvedere Nights at The Nest

FLORA serves a daily changing menu of seasonal dishes, such as grilled sea bass with romesco sauce, vegan ‘meatballs’, and chicken cooked over wood stuffed with ricotta. joyatportobello.co.uk

Kricket

World-renowned chefs Vivek Singh, Nuno Mendes and Andrew Wong will be cooking at Will Bowlby’s Indian restaurant Kricket this September as part of the restaurant’s new guest chef series. This follows the success of last year’s events, which saw the team raise over £3,000 for Apne Aap Women’s Collective, the anti-trafficking charity which serves the women and children of Kamathipura, the red light district of Mumbai. Each chef will join Bowlby in the kitchen for one night only to create a three-course sharing menu. Tickets cost £55pp, with all profits going towards AAWC. 15, 22 and 29 September. kricket.co.uk

Launching on 23 July at Loafing Café, Well Street Hackney, the residency’s prime focus is slow cooked sous vide meats, which are cooked for 24 hours in La Pilarica spices to enhance flavour and tenderness. Enjoy in burritos, burgers and salads, alongside a range of Mexican sides. Wednesdays-Sundays, 5-11pm. lapilarica.co.uk
