The V&A has reopened its doors to the public with a sensational line-up of exhibitions. Visitors are now able to explore the ground and second floors, as well as the Europe 1600-1815 galleries in what is a phased reopening – note: free timed entry tickets must be booked – whilst the highly-anticipated Kimono: Kyoto to Catwalk retrospective has also recommenced. Kimono: Kyoto to Catwalk

An entire exhibition dedicated to the kimono? We’re officially intrigued. From 17th century Japanese garments, to original Star Wars costumes and designs from the likes of Yves Saint Laurent and John Galliano, explore the fascinating evolution of the Kimono and its progressional role within the world of haute couture. Catch it now until 25 October 2020.
Bags: Inside Out

Practical, sometimes necessary and often wholly understated: Bags: Inside Out at the V&A celebrates the history, status and power of the humble handbag. From luxury designs – think Mulberry and Karl Lagerfeld – to Winston Churchill’s despatch box, plus those worn by Margaret Thatcher and Sarah Jessica Parker in Sex and the City, delve into the depths of fashion’s most functional accessory. 21 November – 12 September 2021.

Alice: Curiouser and Curiouser

Set to be the V&A’s most highly anticipated and must-see exhibition of 2021, enter into the fantastical world of Alice in Wonderland and explore the iconic story’s influential 158-year-old history; its origins, evolution and impact on film, fashion, photography, and more. 27 March 2021 – 31 December 2021.
Epic Iran
Spanning 300 notable pieces and 5,000 years of history, this captivating exhibition will transport culture vultures to the Middle East in an in-depth exploration of Iranian art, design and culture. Opening 13 February 2021.
