Bryan Ferry
11 – 13 March 2020
The suave singer, songwriter and frontman of legendary glam art-rock band Roxy Music returns to the Royal Albert Hall for the London leg of his UK tour. He’ll be performing highlights from his solo career – including the wistful Slave to Love and Let’s Stick Together – as well as hits like like Virginia Plain and More Than This from the Roxy Music days.
Opera for Kids – Serenades & Songs
14 March 2020
With no tutting or eye-rolls to speak of, the Albert Hall’s Opera for Kids sessions are the perfect way to introduce your tot to the world of high culture. Though Albert’s Band will perform a proper classical repertoire, there’s no expectation for children to sit still or be silent, creating a relaxed atmosphere for parents and children alike to enjoy an afternoon of opera.
Steve Martin & Martin Short
14 – 15 March 2020
See the two comedy legends on their critically-acclaimed tour, The Funniest Show in Town at the Moment, a self-deprecating tour-de-force performance that sees the pair delight in roasting each other and the celebrity-obsessed world of Hollywood. Their previous show, An Evening You Will Forget for the Rest of Your Life, was a hit Netflix special that garnered four Emmy nominations.
Mountbatten Festival of Music
6 – 7 March 2020
The Massed Bands of Her Majesty’s Royal Marines are given the West End treatment for two evening shows (and a matinee) at the Royal Albert Hall. Performing stunning solos and renditions of film scores in addition to their usual repertoire of marches and overtures, the festival sees the Royal Marines demonstrate their incredible versatility and skill as some of the world’s finest military musicians. Proceeds go to The Royal Marines Charity and CLIC Sargent.
Teenage Cancer Trust Concerts – 20th Anniversary
24 – 29 March 2020
The Royal Albert Hall has run rock concerts in support of the Teenage Cancer Trust since 2000, and the line-up for the landmark 20th year is looking spectacular. Long-time supporters The Who (and their full orchestral accompaniment) are joined by Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Stereophonics and Groove Armada, and there will also be a comedy performance by John Bishop. Legendary singer and groove-master Nile Rogers & his band Chic will bring the concerts to an uplifting conclusion.
Whilst You’re There…
Make an occasion of it by booking into CODA by Eric Chavot, the Royal Albert Hall’s fine dining restaurant and bar. Michelin star-awarded chef Eric Chavot has created a menu of seasonal, French-inspired dishes to delight RAH ticketholders, who now make a ritual of heading there for an early supper before the evening’s entertainment. You can even order dessert and drinks which will be prepared in time for the first interval, so there’s no rush. With beautiful views of Kensington Gardens, the restaurant is located on the Rausing Circle and decked out with accents of lilac and grey, making it an elegant spot for a glass of pre-show champagne – but it’s worth taking the time to dine there. The prix fixe menu is extremely reasonable considering the quality of the cuisine. Highlights include the refreshingly tart sea bream ceviche to start and a delicately seared piece of Brill atop squid ink linguine in a mustard velouté. 2 courses for £37.
