1. Experience a multi-sensory supper at Texture
Ever thought of having cosy supper in the wild Icelandic countryside? This is the next best thing: Michelin-starred Scandinavian restaurant Texture, with help from floral design expert Fabienne Egger and Martin Miller’s gin, has transformed their private room into an immersive, multi-sensory experience, inspired by the idyllic natural setting of rural Iceland. 2. Explore Cowcross Yards, Farringdon’s new foodie hub
To mark the opening of Cowcross Yards and celebrate all things autumnal, the new foodie destination is hosting The Feast of Fall, setting up a fully edible garden. Expect deliciously confusing surprises – such as desserts disguised as seasonal veg – an autumn-themed street food market by Urban Food Fest and a mural installation by Graffiti Kings. 7 November 12–4pm, Cowcross St, London EC1M 6DR
3. Stop and smell the ‘roses’ at 45 Park Lane
The tulip craze of the Dutch Golden Age and Chinese symbolism partly inspired the huge, three-dimensional floral canvasses of Zhuang Hong Yi, one of China’s most influential contemporary artists. Flowerbed, his latest series, is a riot of intricately folded origami rice-paper flowers covered in colour-shifting layers of bright acrylic and oil paint. In China, flowers represent represent growth, fulfilment and prosperity – watch out for the lucky chrysanthemum and lotus, signifying metaphysical purity and strength. 4. Celebrate bonfire night at B&H Garden Room
Not one for trekking up Primrose Hill with the rest of the huddled masses? Install yourself in the private room of B&H Garden Room instead and watch the fireworks away from the crowds, high above London’s rooftops. 5. Delight in a whisky masterclass at Mind Palace
Making whisky-based cocktails? Elementary… Warm up with this ultimate masterclass, at the speakeasy bar of popular immersive experience Sherlock. Guests will be greeted with a warming Bonfire Hot Toddy, before learning to craft their own cocktails using Glenlivet whisky, and can enjoy three more afterwards in the immersive bar themed around the world’s favourite detective. 6. See what the future holds at The Alchemist’s cocktail readings
Want to know what’s in store for 2020? Masters of mysticism and molecular mixology, Alchemy, are hosting Deja Brew, a series of cocktail-leaf reading sessions. With the help of professional clairvoyant tea-leaf reader Gail Hart, visitors can have their fortunes told through a bespoke cocktail with an exact ‘liquid to tea leaf ratio’, for the most accurate predictions yet. 7. Embark on an interactive adventure at the Electronic Theatre
London’s newest immersive experience, the game can be played by up to six people, who will navigate the LightBox rooms. Forget bulky VR headsets and helmets: the games and challenges use projection mapping, touch screens, motion tracking and surround sound for a high-tech experience that encourages collaboration and interaction. 8. Uncover Tutankhamen’s treasures at the Saatchi Gallery
Opening to sell-out crowds this weekend, the exhibition brings together 150 original artefacts discovered in the tomb of the Boy King almost 100 years ago, including such treasures as the gold cofinette and pectoral, inlaid with lapis lazuli scarabs.
