Where To Eat Truffle in London

Nothing says autumn like the unmistakable waft of truffle. Fragrant, rich and pricey, it’s one of the most luxurious ingredients out there. The ancient Greeks called it the food of the Gods – a title upheld today by its legions of fans. With truffle season in full swing, we’ve rounded up the best places to eat it across the capital…

Theo Randall at the InterContinental Park Lane

Commonly referred to as tartufo, Italian truffles are one of the country’s most prized and coveted ingredients – which is why Theo Randall imports them from Umbria. The new limited edition menu at his restaurant at the InterContinental Park Lane perfectly demonstrates their beauty. All dishes are made using 5gr of Périgordblack truffles, including a fresh taglierini pasta, a baked cheese soufflé, a beef tartare and a risotto with broccoli and parmesan. theorandall.com

Bocca Di Lupo

Steven Joyce

A charming Italian trattoria in the heart of Soho, Bocca di Lupo has won numerous accolades since opening in 2008. It’s ever-changing menu brings the best of Italy’s distinctive regional specialties to London, so of course they bring out the goods come truffle season. This year’s menu was inspired the Piemonte region, often referred to as ‘the white truffle capital of the world’ – with white truffles the focus until December and black truffles for the months of January and February. Dishes include Tarjarin: fine egg pasta with duck and parmesan, Pernice: whole roast partridge with polenta and anchovy, and Agnolotti Dal Plin: veal and cabbage filled tiny pasta with bone marrow and sage sauce. If all that truffle leaves you wanting more, pop into sister site Gelupo afterwards, which offers truffles and truffle products to enjoy at home. boccadilupo.com

Their soon to launch truffle menu includes four courses, each using different varieties of the much-coveted ingredient: autumn black, Perigord, White Alba and Honey. 18 November-1 December. £105pp. kitchenw8.com
