London Park BBQ: Where to Go
Caledonian Park, Islington
Islington was one of the first London boroughs to introduce BBQ-friendly spaces. Caledonian Park, with copious amounts of open green spaces, makes a great option for a summer BBQ. There’s also a children’s play area and a court for football, basketball and tennis. Market Road, N7 9PL
Cantelowes Gardens, Camden
Local Camden gem Cantelowes Gardens is in a prime position, just behind Camden Town, so when the sun goes down and the BBQ has got you sufficiendly stuffed, you can party the night away on Camden’s high street. There’s also a skate park at this park, too. 234 Camden Road, NW1 9AE
Lincoln’s Inn Fields, Holborn
Grill your heart out at this historic, buzzy London square. As one of the few barbecue-friendly spots in Zone 1, it’s also within easy walk of some of the city’s best views and landmarks, if you’re keen to make a day of it and work off those ‘dogs. Lincoln’s Inn Fields, WC2A 3TL
Crystal Palace Park, Bromley
Bromley’s only BBQ-friendly park. As long as the BBQ is raised off the ground, they’re welcome here. It’s easy to spend a day here, exploring the maze, life-size dinosaurs, the urban farm and the boating lake, open at weekends. Thicket Road, SE20 8DT
Highbury Fields, Islington
One of Islington’s largest open spaces, Highbury Fields also has a tennis court, an adventure play area and an orchard. Highbury Crescent, Highbury East, N5 1AR
Waterlow Park, Highgate
Boasting 26 acres of beautiful green space, Highgate’s Waterlow Park is a favourite amongst locals and visitors of North London. Bring your BBQ to one of the two designated BBQ areas and enjoy. Highgate Hill, N6 5HD
