Escape to the Chateau's Angel Strawbridge has launched a festive fragrance range available at Argos

Argos has added four new festive scents to The Chateau fragrance range, designed by Escape to the Chateau’s Angel Strawbridge.

Last year, Sainsbury’s and Argos collaborated with Escape to the Chateau’s Angel Strawbridge to create The Chateau fragrance range. This year they are back with four new scents to get you in the Christmas spirit.

The Chateau fragrance range

The Channel 4 series Escape to the Chateau is one of our guilty pleasures here at Ideal Home. Ever since the show launched in 2016, we have eagerly followed Angel and Dick Strawbridge, as they buy, renovate and restore their 45-bedroom, 19th-century chateau in the Pays de la Loire.

We have loved watching Angel Strawbridge infuse the Chateau with her signature vintage style. So we scrambled at the chance to get hold of scents designed by Angel herself.

The four new festive scents in the Chateau fragrance range are spiced rose, forest embers, ginger frost and golden Amberwood. The new scents will join the existing range that includes jasmine flower, delicate sweet pea, opulent tuberose and pretty peony. Each  inspired by flowers from the Chateau gardens.

Golden Amberwood is a woody scent with notes of patchouli and vetiver. Spiced Rose is more sultry with delicate fruity overtones. Ginger Frost is a more traditional festive scent with a warming blend of spiced ginger and cologne. Forest Embers is one of our particular favourite for a grown-up Christmas scent. The scent balances the fragrant aroma of pine with a rich, smoky undertone.

‘There are so many memories that are linked to the fragrances you experience in your lifetime. Life at the Chateau has opened new doors, and some of the aromas I love are encapsulated in this evocative range,’ says Angel of the new range. ‘For me these scents conjure up our first winter at the Chateau, our winter walks, exploring the grounds, and even the warmth of time shared in our kitchen.’

The new scents will be available in the glass candle covered in a gorgeous festive design. As well as the lidded multi-wick candle in a stunning sculptural floral vessel that Angel designed for the original The Chateau fragrance range. Both designs draw on a decadent, Art Nouveau style that will stand out on any dressing table or coffee table.

And don’t forget about the diffuser. If you’ve binge-watched all of the Escape to the Chateau, you’ll know that Angel Strawbridge never does things conventionally.

Ditching the traditional reed diffuser sticks, The Chateau diffuser emits the fragrance through intricate layered ceramic petals shaped like a rose.
