Boulevard Theatre Returns to Soho

The pre-theatre dining experience just got a whole lot more pleasurable; Boulevard has returned to Soho after 20 years, combining the art of performance with sophisticated food and drink in an elegant art deco-inspired setting.

What’s On in the West End

Boulevard

Revolutionising the concept of theatre, this brand new four-storey playhouse features an avant-garde revolving floor space, a spectacular glass bridge overlooking the vibrant streets of Soho, and a buzzy all-day restaurant and bar (open from eight until late), featuring picture perfect marble tables, prepossessing pink walls and an innovative menu offering an array of contemporary dishes, each curated by former Commonwealth Club head chef Greg Hillier.

Boulevard

Think smashed chilli avocado on sourdough, chermoula baked aubergine and indulgent chocolate olive oil and almond cake, served warm – how ever else? – with whiskey sauce and vanilla ice cream. Guests can also delight in show-specific theatre menus, inspired by the performance they are about to see, and a range of specially curated cocktails from top barman, Fin Spiteri, in collaboration with a multitude of illustrious brands such as Hej Coffee, Chapel Down, Coalition Brewing and Duval-Leroy.

Boulevard

Devised by Fawn James, director of Soho Estates, in partnership with artistic director Rachel Edwards, the exciting development has opened its doors this month with a run of enthralling performances from Tony Award-nominee Dave Malloy’s Ghost Quartet, an evocative song cycle revolving ‘love, loss and spirits’. Further performances to look forward to include Soho Sounds: Jazz, a soulful show taking place every Wednesday through November and December, Finale, a showtune spectacular showcasing stars of the West End, and late night Comedy Fridays featuring the likes of The Yes Queens and Nina Conti.

There’s also a weekly ‘Sunday Service’ for those who enjoy live poetry, podcasts and classical music, as well as Disco Yoga accompanied by bottomless brunch, a special ‘Stir Up Sunday’ for the chance to create a first-class Christmas pud, and a 1950s-style New Year’s Eve spectacular.
