The Krug x Pepper Seasonal Table
Each year, Krug Champagne honours a single ingredient, this year’s being the humble pepper. As a tribute, they’re hosting a special dinner in collaboration with Michelin-starred chef Ollie Dabbous, taking place at Natoora on 26 September. The event will kick off with canapés at Hans’ Bar & Grill followed by a 4-course pepper-infused dinner paired with a selection of champagnes. 26 September. £250pp. Book via clos19.com
Seafood Brunch at Oblix at The Shard
Seafood and Champagne – is there a better combination? On every Saturday throughout August, Oblix at The Shard are serving up a sky-high bottomless brunch, featuring a show-stopping seafood counter pile high with dishes including sustainably sourced scallops with samphire, chilli and grapefruit, crab salad and seared tuna. Enjoy unlimited bubbly, wine or organic wine as you soak up the stellar city views. £70pp, £45 extra for bottomless Champagne, or £20 for wine. Available every Saturday throughout August, 12-4pm.
Rathfinny Estate at Ham Yard Hotel
Celebrate The British Aperitivo on the roof terrace of Soho’s ever-trendy Ham Yard Hotel this summer. English wine producers Rathfinny Estate will be serving some of their world-class wine alongside an aperitivo style British cocktail list, shared platters and seasonal small plates. 5,6 and 9 August.
‘Forage and Feast’ at Native
For a true root to plate dining experience, join one of the new ‘Forage and Feast’ experiences taking place at South London restaurant Native. You’ll begin by meeting head chef Ivan Tisdall-Downes and co-founder Imogen Davis at a location near the restaurant before embarking on a two-hour foraging tour, learning the ins and outs of foraging and the importance of using your senses. After working up an appetite, enjoy a 3-course lunch together around the Native dining table – made using the local and seasonal produce gathered that morning. 17 August & 14 September. £55pp.
‘Noche de Cigarros’ at COYA Angel Court
Enjoy cocktails and cigars on the terrace of renowned Peruvian restaurant COYA Angel Court. Your evening will begin with a glass of Perrier-Jouet Grand Brut before the premium cigar of the evening is presented, which you can pair with a selection of cocktails. £30pp, book here
Sally Abe X Calum Franklin at The Harwood Arms
Known to game lovers as ‘The Glorious Twelfth’, 12th August marks the start of shooting season for red grouse, the ‘king’ of game birds that are native to Britain. To celebrate, chefs Sally Abe and Calum Franklin will be hosting a five-course feast at The Harwood Arms, focusing on some of Britain’s finest produce. September Guest Series at Kricket
A series of guest chef events will be taking place at Kricket this September in aid of Apne Aap Women’s Collective, an anti-trafficking organisation that serves women and their children in Mumbai. Across the month chef and co-founder Will Bowlby will be welcoming friends John Chantarasak, Pierre Koffman, Tom Griffiths, Ben Marks, and Valentine Warner into the West London branch of Kricket. Each will merge their cooking style with Will’s modern take on Indian food, creating a unique three-course sharing menu for guests to enjoy. 3 September-1 October. £40pp. Visit their website for details.
Crawfish Season at Plaquemine Lock
Have a taste of the Louisiana lifestyle in London’s Islington at Creole-inspired pub and restaurant Plaquemine Lock. Crawfish season is upon us, and they’re celebrating by throwing a traditional New Orleans-style feast every Monday evening. A crawfish boil will be served, starring crawfish in their shells, boiled potatoes, Andouille sausage and corn on the cob alongside a range of Southern sides and cocktails. 7.30pm every Monday. £30pp if booked ahead, £40 on the night. plaqlock.com
Dinner with Friends at Red Rooster
As the London go-to for Southern soul food (think crispy fried chicken, collard greens and other wholesome grub) coupled with exciting live music, Red Rooster is no stranger to good food and a good time, but the restaurant’s ‘Dinner with Friends’ series takes the dining experience to a whole new level of deliciousness. The acclaimed supper club sees Red Rooster’s Culinary Director, Marcus Samuelsson, collaborating with a new chef each time to dish up culture mash-ups, serve unexpected delicacies and above all host a night of exceptional food, fantastic company and superlative entertainment. The next ‘Friend’ on the agenda is renowned chef Shaun Whitmore (who has worked with Hix, Jamie Oliver’s restaurant group and Patty & Bun). Together the duo will be cooking up an exciting blend of American and British Soul Food with highlights including a baller donut, preserved lemon crema and caviar, fish taco injera with wasabi aioli – paired with a refreshing Veuve Cliquot rosé champagne cocktail. The Oyster Shack at Butlers Wharf Chop House
Oysters, sparkling wine, riverside views: the new pop-up at Butlers Wharf Chop House is a summer must-visit. They’ve partnered with Nyetimber to bring Londoners The Oyster Shack, specialising in the world-famous firm and fresh Colchester Rock Oysters – perfectly complemented by sparkling wine. A series of ticketed events will also be running throughout the residency, including tasting workshops and oyster shucking masterclasses. Until 31 August.
Pizza & Life Drawing at Manifesto
Pizza, good wine, and art – enjoy three of life’s greatest pleasures at Clapham restaurant Manifesto’s life drawing series. Begin with a glass of vino to get the creative juices flowing before taking part in a life drawing class coached by artist Ru Knox, with a pizza break half way through. £25. Sawyer & Grey Lates
Renowned for serving some of the freshest seafood in London, Islington’s Prawn on the Lawn has launched an evening cocktail and oyster bar pop-up in the next-door Sawyer & Gray café. Here guests can tuck into a selection of all-new bar snacks, small plates, featuring both the seafood they are known for and some new vegetarian and meat plates. Fridays and Saturdays, 6-11pm.
Dinings SW3 Off-Menu Omasake Dinners
‘Omasake’ in Japanese means to ‘entrust’ or ‘protect’, which translates in the restaurant world to ‘putting yourself in the chef’s hands.’ Give it a go at one of Dinings SW3’s new monthly omasake dinners. Hosted by Executive Chef Masaki Sugisaki, each dinner will see 12 guests dining around the central sushi counter, where they’ll be treated to a unique Japanese menu paired with a selection of Sakes. Dishes will include completely new creations from Chef Masaki alongside some of the restaurant’s signature sushi. Tickets cost £285 or £228 without Sake pairing. The Chocolate Cocktail Club
Head to trendy Brick Lane for a combination of two of life’s best pleasures: chocolate and cocktails. The pop-up has proved so popular organisers have decided to extend its lifespan until late August. Guests an enjoy chocolate twists on classic cocktails including their signature Chocotini, as well as chocolate beer and chocolate wine. Prepare for a serious sugar rush!
