The Welly Walk: 3 Miles
Start at The Idle Rocks and explore the many walking trails in the area. October is peak fishing season, making for bustling walking routes along the coast and picturesque walks through woodland, farmland and quay. Start with the shorter trail up the coastal pathway to Bohortha hamlet and return through woodland along the Fal estuary.
The History Walk: 4 Miles
This double loop takes you through the ages of the region’s history as you pass a Bronze Age barrow, views across St Agness Beacon, an Iron Age earthwork and a Second Wold War decoy bunker. The finale is breath-taking views from the tip of Nare Head, from the South West Coast Path.
The Foodie Walk: 7 Miles
Follow The Oyster Way from St Mawes to St Just Church, heading on to King Harry Reach along the Fal, the last remaining oyster fishery in Europe still dredged by sail and oar. Catch the action at the four-day Oyster Festival, 10–13 October, which marks the start of the dredging season. Enjoy some local oysters and live music, cooking demonstrations and the food and craft stalls.
