Letters Live

3 October 2019, 7:30pm

Hugely popular and at the Royal Albert Hall for the first time, this live celebration of letter writing through history doesn’t even reveal its speakers or the letters they will read until the evening itself. Kano

East London-born rapper Kano, considered a pioneer of the grime sound, ends his UK tour with his first appearance at the Royal Albert Hall. Hoodies All Summer, Kano’s second album and the follow up to his Mercury Prize-nominated Made In The Manor, shifts to a more minimal sound to showcase the rapper’s lyrical prowess, with the instrumentation echoing hip-hop and elements of dancehall.

Classic FM Live

8 October 2019, 7:30pm

In what promises to be a spectacular evening of classical music, this instalment of Classic FM Live will feature Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue performed by talented young pianist Benjamin Grosvenor and choral music from the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, directed by Gareth Malone. A dazzling display of lights and pyrotechnics, set to the music of Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture, will conclude the night.

‘And In The End…’

17 October 2019, 7:30pm

Bring your friends and family and come together to celebrate the 50th anniversary of The Beatles’ Abbey Road, the band’s last ever recorded album – widely considered one of the best – and Let It Be. In an inspired collaboration, the Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and the Bootleg Beatles create a musical roadmap of the band’s tumultuous yet productive final years, paying homage to this period’s lasting legacy with classics like Here Comes the Sun, Across the Universe, and The Long and Winding Road.

A Night at Ronnie Scott’s

30 October 2019, 7:30pm

An iconic Soho institution since 1959, Ronnie Scott’s jazz club is transported to the Royal Albert Hall for its 60th anniversary. Expect a raucous, cabaret-style night of jazz, performed by some of the world’s best artists: the line up includes Grammy-winner Kurt Elling, Courtney Pine CBE, and jazz and soul singer Madeline Bell, as well as Ronnie Scott’s own highly accomplished jazz orchestra.

Whilst You’re There…

Coda Eric Chavot

Make an occasion of it by booking into CODA by Eric Chavot, the Royal Albert Hall’s fine dining restaurant and bar. Michelin star-awarded chef Eric Chavot has created a menu of seasonal, French-inspired dishes to delight RAH ticketholders, who now make a ritual of heading there for an early supper before the evening’s entertainment. You can even order dessert and drinks which will be prepared in time for the first interval, so there’s no rush. With beautiful views of Kensington Gardens, the restaurant is located on the Rausing Circle and decked out with accents of lilac and grey, making it an elegant spot for a glass of pre-show champagne – but it’s worth taking the time to dine there. The prix fixe menu is extremely reasonable considering the quality of the cuisine. Highlights include the refreshingly tart sea bream ceviche to start and a delicately seared piece of Brill atop squid ink linguine in a mustard velouté. 2 courses for £37.
