The pandemic has restricted artists worldwide, but there’s one area of creativity that hasn’t been affected: street art. In fact, the colourful art form has thrived over the past few months – and it’s now being celebrated in a new city-wide event, the London Mural Festival.
The festival was always in the pipeline, but its significance is even greater in the context of the current climate, particularly with new Tier 2 rules encouraging us to spend more time in the open air. Over 200 artists have painted 75 large-scale works in locations across the city, from Walthamstow to Wembley Park. Read on for our top picks of what to see, from futuristic bridges to canal boats to giant portraits. You can also access a map of all the artworks here.
