Worlds away from your average takeaway, Ormer Mayfair’s new delivery service features all the restaurant’s signature dishes alongside some exciting newbies. Begin with beef tartare, yellowtail ceviche or a heritage beetroot salad before getting stuck into mains: highlights include Dorset lamb cutlets with spiced aubergine and pine nuts, and black cod with pickled squash and Pak choi. Hakkasan is renowned for its exceptional Chinese cuisine, but the hospitality group has veered into new territory with its new virtual culinary pop-up Casa Calavera. The delivery-only service is a celebration of Mexican food, with authentic dishes given innovative twists. On the menu you’ll find a selection of small and large plates, tacos, salads and side dishes. Highlights include pork carnitas with fire-roasted salsa, chipotle beef brisket tacos, chicken quesadillas, grilled sweet potato with sour cream, and stuffed poblano peppers. Kitchen Table
Two Michelin-starred Kitchen Table is bringing fine dining to homes across the capital with Home by James Knappett, the restaurant’s first at-home offering. Diners can choose between seven and 11 course tasting menus, alongside grower champagnes expertly selected by James’ wife, Sandia Chang. Standout dishes include hand dived Orkney Island scallops served with toasted hazelnut and herb butter, homemade pasta in a truffle butter sauce, and baked cheesecake with a summer berry compote. Fancy a two Michelin-starred takeaway? Order from Dinner by Heston Blumenthal, which is now offering a selection of its culinary classics for delivery. Dinings SW3
How does wagyu beef in your living room sound? Dinings SW3 has launched a new delivery range of premium bento boxes, a Japanese culinary staple which dates back more than 1000 years. This includes some of the Knightsbridge restaurant’s most popular dishes, such as the grilled black cod and line caught sea bass. Culinary hub Carousel London is back with Greatest Hits: four menus featuring a selection of their all-time favourite dishes. The restaurant is now open, but you can have the dishes delivered if you live in certain areas of London including Marylebone, Mayfair, Notting Hill, Soho and Covent Garden. Ollie Dabbous’ restaurant HIDE is taking luxury food delivery to new heights with its takeaway menu, with caviar, barbecued langoustines, burrata and glazed guinea fowl all available to order. Your dining room may not be as fancy as the glamorous Mayfair venue – but you can eat in your pyjamas. The Michelin-starred restaurant has also launched a new takeaway picnic menu, available for collection from the site – which is perfectly placed opposite Green Park. The ‘Picnic in the Park’ offering includes a selection of picnic-friendly dishes: green olives with garlic, lemon and rosemary, H. Yet the past few years have seen an influx in mid-range Indian restaurants, inspired in part by the opening of the legendary Dishoom. One of these is Gunpowder, which first launched off Commercial Street in 2015, followed by a second branch in Tower Bridge. The recently opened Townsend, found within The Whitechapel Gallery, wowed our managing editor Amy on a recent trip there. In light of the coronavirus situation, founder Nick Gilkinson has worked with head chef Joe Fox to reconfigure the restaurant’s signature dishes into a delivery friendly ready-to-eat format, available alongside a selection of Nick’s favourite wines.
