Coming to the Duke of York’s Theatre, the adaptation of Paula Hawkins’ international bestselling novel The Girl on the Train has a lot to live up to. The tense storyline has numerous hold-your-breath plot twists that have been intelligently translated onto the stage by Rachel Wagstaff and Duncan Abel. The effect is as gripping as it was on the page: ‘You could hear a pin drop,’ according to Hawkins. 23 July to 17 August; atgtickets.com
